Configuring the Package Manager

Stap 8: Pakketbeheerder instellen

Because the installer will download all additional software required the first thing that needs to be configured to be able to do this is to configure the package manager. Because Debian has a lot of mirrors 1 all over the world the installer will allow you to select on that's closest to your location to speedup the installation process.

since we only have the net-installer we don't want to scan any other CD or DVD (unless when you are installing from the CD/DVD set and not the USB net-installer because your network adapter is not working).

Choose your country (or one nearest).

Select the standard server or one of the others provided.

If your computer is behind a Proxy server enter the required information here, if you are not using a proxy then just leave this blank.

The mirror server will be scanned and configured.
